The cold weather is here! My wife and I were doing the annual “bringing in of the plants” as the cold weather was blowing in and we were so cold. We started discussing warm climates to give us a false sense of warmth. We were talking about our orlando vacations and how beautiful the beaches were and how good it felt just to relax in the sand and listen to the ocean breeze as it came across the sand. We would imagine where that breeze had come from and what all it had seen as we closed our eyes and enjoyed the sun’s rays as we laid on the beach. I have to admit we were able to bring in all of the plants and we enjoyed it. Afterwards we made a fire and drank some cocoa together and decided as much fun as our vacations are at that moment we wanted to be no where else.

There are so many beautiful places to go for a romantic get away. Everyone wants to head to the beach. There is so much to do there and the sand and the water make for a very romantic experience. Enjoying long walks on the beach together can bring fun to any getaway. There are many destinations that have the best atmospheres for that special getaway. You can go to an all inclusive resort where everything you need is there for you. These resorts are in many of the most sought after locations such as the Jamaica all inclusive vacations where the beaches are white and the climate is perfect for outdoor activities. You can go to the Caribbean resorts and enjoy a fun atmosphere and beautiful beaches as well. The destinations are there and waiting for you to enjoy them. The next time you feel like you need a break…think sand!

While we were at the vet we noticed a couple putting on disposable shoe covers before they went back to visit their dog. When they returned the shoes were gone and they were very relieved. When I asked them what was wrong with their dog they said he had Parvo and was fighting for his life but seemed to be better. This is a horrible disease but you can stop it with a vaccination series. The next time I was at the vet they were picking up their dog and she was thin but her tail was going crazy. Everyone needs to get their dogs Parvo shots so they do not have to have the disposal shoe visits because many of the visits do not turn out well.

I think everyone is trying to save money in this economy. We save where ever we can. We pinch pennies as my grandmother calls it by using coupons and shopping for the best prices on everything we buy. I was surprised when I had decided to get different auto insurance quotes on how much you can save if you do a little research. With three teenagers about to take the wheel saving on insurance is something I did not think would happen but it is possible. They were able to factor in things such as their good grades to save us money. I knew their education would pay off some day and it already has started for them. My son said,” Just imagine what college will do for us if high school has already saved us money.”

One of the most fun activities that our family does for Christmas is the cooking of the Christmas dinner. My wife gives assignments to each of us so we can help her as she plans out this amazing feast. She takes so much pride in the way she presents the table with the dishes, chargers and Soup Bowl Sets. As our guests arrive we have heard more times then once that the food was too pretty to eat. My wife believes that what makes the food look so good is the dishes and platters that it is served in. I have to say I am very proud of her as well as the job she does. I think she is going to be very happy with Santa this year. The best part for me is I can order all of it online which guarantees she will be surprised.

For our friends they went to Rome. They made a reservation at a hotel rome and bought their airline tickets. When they got back they could not stop talking about all the fun they had. I think this year instead of a getaway we should all take an exciting vacation that stimulates our senses and gets our world pumped up until our next vacation! You know experience the world and all that it has to offer beautiful scenery, great foods and interesting people.
