Birthday parties are not what they use to be. I remember going to a birthday party and we would play Pin the Tail on the Donkey. I went to a birthday party that had pony rides and bouncing tents. They had a dip machine and a paint ball game going. It was so amazing. I would have thought how lucky this kid is (as I am sure my kids were thinking) except for the fact that it was the child’s first birthday! All I could think of was it was obviously their first child. By the time they are on their fourth child they will be at a local restaurant and slicing an ice cream cake! Luckily their child will not remember this party so they will have something to compare it to. I think this party was more about mom and dad. i still remember our first birthdays with our little ones and they had some really good parties too but there was never a pony!
