When things are resolved they are often better then before. This is not the case in the online eye wear vs. in-store eye wear because it is the customer that is caught in the middle. The eyeglass customers understand that the eye doctor’s office has overhead that they have to cover and bills to pay like everyone else. They have to make ends meet for themselves just as we do. That means not being able to give things away for free such as PD measurements. That is understood. Now the customer also has bills to pay which means watching the family dollar just as the eye doctor is doing. The difference is for many eyeglass wearers being able to order their eyeglasses online mean they can actually afford them due to the enormous savings. They do not have to pay the marked up prices that the in store doctors charge which makes the eyeglasses affordable. The economy is unstable at best so families have to find ways to survive financially. Being able to order their eyeglasses online and save so much, especially if you have a family that wears glasses as well, means the world to those that have had to cut expenses to the bare bones! When I read that the eye doctors are not releasing the PD measurements so these families can get the proper fit on the eyeglasses that they are wanting to order it gives me concern. What ever happened to people helping people?
