There are certain jobs that the world has a need for and one of those jobs are filled by teachers. Teachers give our children the foundations they need to go out into the world armed with knowledge. There are schools that are in desperate need of good teachers. There are things being done to help Teach America. If you are someone that has chosen teaching as your career you could make a difference and get your master’s at the same time. Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship will give anyone that qualifies that is a recent grad in the STEM fields a $30,000 stripend to complete a master’s degree at any of the 14 participating universities. If you will complete an undergrad degree in a STEM field by 2011 and have graduated with a 3.0 GPA or higher you may qualify. You will be able to complete a field based master’s degree in your teaching education. This next step is where you can really make a difference because you will commit to teach for at least 3 years in a high need school where teachers are needed the most. You will receive intense mentoring and support in the classroom. This is a way to make a difference in others lives while you are making a difference in your own! That is a win win for everyone especially the kids that will get the education they need to be productive members of society.
