We receive a lot of invitations each year. We go to weddings and graduations as well as birthday parties filled with family and friends. We always have fun because it is a time of celebration. One of our favorite invitations to receive are baby shower invitations. We save all of our baby announcements and baby shower invitations and put them in a baby book. Looking back on the many little ones that have expanded our family is enjoyable. To see how big they are getting is simply amazing. As we watch our own little ones become young adults it reminds us how fast the time passes and how much we need to enjoy every moment. There is something so exciting about celebrating a new arrival. After all you have not even seen this little one and yet you know it will have a bright future. There are so many things to shop for and it is fun to see how the products have changed and in most cases advanced from the products we had available. The stroller that we just bought for our niece’s new arrival actually had shocks on it. I would think children learn to walk much later in their early years today with such a smooth ride to enjoy. Why walk? Our stroller bounced our little ones all over the place often causing them to drop their sippies! There were places in our zoo that we would have to pick them up from the strollers and carry the stroller with our babies on our hips. When I suggested that they take their smooth ride stroller to the zoo to test the shocks they informed us the zoo has totally redone their entire path system and it now has concrete everywhere. Now where is the fun in that I ask you? The most fun to be had at the old zoo was knowing where to zig and zag!

Rooms, design and fireplace

If you think about it you do not see very many corner fireplaces. When you think about how a room could be designed a corner fireplace does make sense. It opens the design of a room much more and gives many more options. We enjoy our fireplace very much. We look forward to lighting it every day. We enjoy it when it is cool outside all the way until there is snow on the ground. Our fireplace just seems to set the mood for our space and we love it. When it gets late in the evening and we all settle down to watch our favorite shows it is a great asset to the space to have our fireplace going. I can not ever imagine not having a fireplace. Being able to light a fireplace with a switch or gathering a load of our favorite woods all will give our space that special feel. There are instances where we can not have fresh woods and when that happens the switch lite fireplaces are a perfect fit. For those people that do not want to store or keep up with wood for their fireplace the switch fireplaces are also a great fit. For those people that have a certain wood they like to burn to get that smell from it as it burns a wood burning fireplace is vital. Of course the end result is a beautiful fireplace either way.

It seems everything we use these days needs batteries. When our children were a little younger we would get boxes of batteries for their holiday gifts and just keep them in the closet because we knew we would need them all. Many of their remote toys needed batteries in the controllers and the toys as well which made them very battery dependent. I recently read about industrial batteries such as the duracell procell d. It just makes sense that the industrial applications for batteries would be boundless. I had not thought about the fact that they would need a battery that had different strengths then the batteries that our children used like water just to watch one of their toys do the same thing for hours and hours. Of course both applications are important.

It is a proven fact that as we age there are certain things our bodies do not produce as it did in our youth. One such shortage that many people suffer from is testosterone. Our backyard is the perfect place to enjoy time outdoors. It is perfectly balanced between the shady areas and the sunny areas. We have the best of both worlds and it is so well landscaped to take advantage of the sunlight that you just want to be outside. We spend a great majority of our time in our backyard so we knew just how we wanted to have it laid out. It turned out perfect from the hammock that we all enjoy star gazing from at night to the flowers cascading down the natural areas across the rocks. Each part is my favorite. You can create a custom space as well no matter how much space you have to work with. Even if it is a small space with few trees you can get a hammock and use a stand instead of trees. It is fun to play outdoors but it can be just as fun to relax there.

The summer time is here and that means we will be dusting off our grills and creating some truly delicious recipes. There are so many things you can make on a grill these days. I remember when a grill meant a hamburger or a hot dog and that was delicious enough. Now there are chicken and even pizzas that are made on the grill and they are so delicious as well. As our children anxiously watched as the bell peppers were browned on the grill I told them that we never had cooked this way on the grill when I was growing up. My son looked at me and said I am so glad we are born when we were so we could eat the good stuff.

Common thing as they age

It is a simple fact things change within our bodies as we age. Those changes are why many people have to have tests done. I have always been a movie buff. I remember when my wife and I first got married we would go to the movie theater at least twice a week. Of course this was back before we had kids. It would not be feasible for us to do this these days. We still go out to the movies every now and then. But it is more like once every 2 months. I was like a kid in a candy store when I found out about directv movie list. You can get all of the movie channels and watch tons of shows. Another awesome thing about this is the ability to record shows and movies on your DVR. If we don’t have time to watch something right then we can just record it and watch it later. This comes in handy with kids. We can once again go back to having movie night at least once a week. I love popping popcorn, sitting on the couch and watching a good thriller. My wife is more into romance movies, so we have to each compromise some of the time.
