Birthday parties are not what they use to be. I remember having a birthday party where the main feature was the cake and ice cream. Today there are children’s parties where the features are a childrens entertainer. It is fun when you go to these parties and watch as the children are entertained with fun things to create and do. Some parties are funny routines that hold the children’s attention. Of course it is still the cake and ice cream that holds the attention when it makes it’s appearance. Whatever parents decide to do for their children’s parties it should reflect the things that their children are interested in. They grow up so fast and their interests change from year to year. We could have a party that reflected their interests of that year and each party would have a different theme. That is what makes childhood so much fun. It is also what makes being a parent so much fun. Watching them as their interests change. You can mark each year as they grow because their interests grow as well. Of course as parents we still miss the dinosaur parties and the princess parties because to use we like to think our little ones will be our little ones forever and in some ways they will.

When your children have to change schools there is nothing that can make a school seem more appealing then the school playground equipment. While we were on a long drive with our young children our kids would pass a school and say that was a good school or that was a bad school every time we passed one. My wife and I listened until we had to ask how they knew. They said good schools have longer slides! I told then I wish I knew that all of these years while we were doing all of the research to fin the best schools to determine where we would live! My son said we call it Research 101!

Our children are teenagers now but one of the things that my wife misses most about babies is the baby clothes. She still looks at baby clothes when ever we go by that department. Fortunately a friend of ours is having their first child and now she has a reason to shop for baby clothes once again and she is happy! She said that she does miss our children not being babies but she does not miss the work!
