I have always been a movie buff. I remember when my wife and I first got married we would go to the movie theater at least twice a week. Of course this was back before we had kids. It would not be feasible for us to do this these days. We still go out to the movies every now and then. But it is more like once every 2 months. I was like a kid in a candy store when I found out about directv movie list. You can get all of the movie channels and watch tons of shows. Another awesome thing about this is the ability to record shows and movies on your DVR. If we don’t have time to watch something right then we can just record it and watch it later. This comes in handy with kids. We can once again go back to having movie night at least once a week. I love popping popcorn, sitting on the couch and watching a good thriller. My wife is more into romance movies, so we have to each compromise some of the time.
Birthday parties are not what they use to be. I remember having a birthday party where the main feature was the cake and ice cream. Today there are children’s parties where the features are a childrens entertainer. It is fun when you go to these parties and watch as the children are entertained with fun things to create and do. Some parties are funny routines that hold the children’s attention. Of course it is still the cake and ice cream that holds the attention when it makes it’s appearance. Whatever parents decide to do for their children’s parties it should reflect the things that their children are interested in. They grow up so fast and their interests change from year to year. We could have a party that reflected their interests of that year and each party would have a different theme. That is what makes childhood so much fun. It is also what makes being a parent so much fun. Watching them as their interests change. You can mark each year as they grow because their interests grow as well. Of course as parents we still miss the dinosaur parties and the princess parties because to use we like to think our little ones will be our little ones forever and in some ways they will.
It seems birthdays are not the same as they were years ago. When I was young we had a party that consisted of a cake and a few presents. Maybe there was a game of pin the tail on the donkey. Today there are many different types of parties you can have from activity based parties to a princess party. Our children have had many different themed parties from Star Wars to Princess parties. They enjoy seeing all of their friends come to their parties dressed as the characters of the theme. It is exciting and it adds a different element to any party. The difference between my daughters little tea party and my son’s paintball party is incredible but they were both a blast in their own way. Birthdays are all about celebrations and that is what we try to do with everyone. The parties of today are far more elaborate from the parties of years ago but on the other hand they still have the same element and that is fun.

For a quick break, this guy is juggling a bowling ball and 2 eggs. He does a good job at it, net there is a miss que and he drops one of the eggs. Overall he can juggle, you have to break a few eggs to become a good juggler.

There is a saying that a picture is worth a thousand words. We think that no truer statement has ever been said. We had told our children so many times about our home we grew up in. My children would listen as we told them stories about our childhood homes and the fun we had in them. From the basement that we would turn into our mud kitchen to the tire tree out front we loved our old home. Since my wife and I were neighbors for a lot of our lives a lot of our experiences were together. Then one day my mom found some old photographs that showed the kids all of the things we had described. They had not pictured it quite as it was so this helped them see us in action! We spent hours. There were things even I forgot. We had many of them framed in a group just because they were so fun and they stirred up so many family memories and for my kids they could see that we were once children, too. Having good pictures means having good photo printing. The right printing will help your photos to last and last and after all is that not what we are capturing the moments for?
Going to more art shows then I can count I have a true appreciation for the hard work that artists put into their work and then the work that is involved in art shows. The shoppers do not realize what all it takes to make the art prints and paintings come to the point of sale but helping my mom as she displayed her paintings I know that they put in a lot of hours to make the art shows a success and it makes me appreciate them from another perspective.
There are events and then there are events and if you are a rodeo fan this would definitely be an event! You probably already know that I am talking about the National Finals Rodeo. They really know how to put on a show, too. You can feel the excitement as each of the cowboys take the arena. Everyone has their favorites and you can tell when the crowd favorites enter the arena. The crowd gets so into the event and that is what makes it fun for me and my entire family. We meet a lot of the same people because there are those that follow the rodeo where ever it goes. For those of us that love the rodeo December can not get here fast enough. There is a seat for everyone that loves the rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada the first week of December. You can feel the electricity as the action begins. You actually begin to feel like part of the action and the show begins. It is an awesome time for everybody. After the event you are still excited but you have really had a rodeo experience.
