Have you noticed how some houses just look better from the outside then others even though they may be similar? We noticed it in a home show we went to. We found the biggest difference is an easy one to fix. If you have wood blinds your curb appeal seems to go up. There is something about them that give a house a well cared for look. I like having them because they seem to cut the sun coming in through the windows in the mornings better. You definitely get a better look when you use them instead of the plastic or metal types.

On a trip to my parents house we were met at the door with my mother smiling from ear to ear. After all of these years my dad agreed to update their den. She proudly showed us in and lead us to their new room. She said they had decided on contemporary furniture because it did not look like any thing they had ever had. I was so thrilled for her because she had wanted new furniture for so long and I was thrilled with my dad because he gave in. I have to admit they even looked happier on their new sofa! Dad did good.

We have a friend of ours that decided for their holiday gifts they would redo their family room. They bought new furniture and a Sony VAIO television. They painted and put in new flooring and lighting as well. The final result is a really nice room that we all enjoy during our get together. I hope for the holidays next year they update their kitchen.

There is a website we found that has the styles of house plans separated and organized so if you are looking for a certain style like country house plans then you can look up that style and choose from the different floor plans. A house plan is something that is very personal to the kind of life you lead. It should be conducive to your family with the interests you have which makes life go more smoothly. For us we wanted a single story, open floor plan and we could not have been more pleased with the outcome. It is exciting to pick out your own plans and design your home from the bottom up and then see it happen before your eyes. It became like another child for us as we watched it turn into our dream home.

When we were remodeling our home we made many really big changes and then invited our friends over for the big unveiling as it were. It was so much fun and everyone loved it. A good friend of mine thanked me because now everyone meets at my house. His wife wanted to update their home as well. He said that he didn’t mind a few pieces of furniture and a few new pictures and sconce but if they went the whole route then everyone would be meeting at their house. The funny part is she agreed!

We had so much fun recently with what started off as a simple update project but quickly turned into a major remodel. We were just sitting talking one day on our front porch watching the sun go down. My wife mentioned that she would like to somehow change our children’s playroom into a more grown teenage friendly game room. She said nothing major just some game tables instead of toy boxes and some different lighting. That sounded simple enough to me so I agreed. We began looking at pool tables and some discount lighting and then two months later we had knocked down two walls, closed in our front porch and you would not recognize the place. It is truly beautiful. When my head stopped spinning I thought how did this happen we were just having a cup of coffee and watching the sun set.

We have been thinking about updating our kitchen for quite sometime. We were looking at the different fixtures and made a decision that we also needed to replace our sink as well. We began looking at all of the different styles of kitchen sinks and found a style called zero radius sinks. This is such a pretty and neat looking sink. It has no rounded corners and has a more streamline look that adds so much to the overall look of the kitchen. This is one of those projects that we took on that we really enjoyed and have now decided that we should update our bathrooms, too.
