When ever I look at pictures of our soldiers I notice the gear they are wearing. It is something about the pictures that really get you emotionally attached to our soldiers and I am so glad that they are being released so people can understand that the soldiers are our families. The photos are just a reminder to everyone so we are all connected to this war. When you see a soldier in his Combat Boots and holding his weapon just covered in mud it reminds us what all they are having to endure for our freedom. This all came to the forefront for us when my brother came home. He was wearing his combat fatigues and his Jungle Boots. He looked tired and glad to be home. Even after a long period of time he still wore those boots until he finally had to get another pair. Of course he went straight to the Wellco boot company that has been making the boots for our military since 1965! That is 45 years of service so he truly respects that and so do we.

Here comes Thanksgiving! It is just a few days away and for us that means we all get together and have a delicious meal and spend the hours after that planning our Black Friday excursion. We all spend the night together and begin in the early hours a day of fun laughter and savings. The stores go all out. Last year we even found a lot of the stores giving out doughnuts and coffee. Most of the people aroung the coffee were the husbands while the women surged on the stores! Unless we were given an assignment. I have to admit it is a lot of fun each year even if I am the bag carrier and the buggy pusher!

We went to our local pet supply store and it seems everyone had brought their pets that day. The place had as many pets as it did people. Loving animals as we do this made it more enjoyable as we watched the many owners asking their pets which of whatever they were looking at the dogs or cats liked best.  Animal behavior has always interested and fascinated us. When it comes to human behavior it gets down right funny. When I went into the restroom there was a large burly man standing by the hand dryers holding a very little dog under it. He was talking to it and making certain that she was not getting too warm as he dried her off. When he saw my face he felt as though  I needed an explanation. He said that he took her to the park and they had a blast. She had gotten dirty and his wife would not be pleased that he let her swim in the lake and chase the ducks! So he brought her to the store and washed her in the sink and dried her with the hand dryer before he took her home. The look on his face as if they had gotten away with something was priceless! Even the dog being  brushed on the sink as he spoke looked like she knew they had done something bad together! I wish them luck pulling that one off!

I was in a jewelry store looking at the rings for my wife’s anniversary gift when I noticed the diamond engagement rings. They were so beautiful the way they caught the light. It just looked like a new beginning with all of the luster that they had it was like the luster that new couples have as they start out to create their memories to last a life time. I then realized how really symbolic a ring is and it made my ring purchase even that much more beautiful to me and I know that it will to my wife. We have been together for many years and have created many memories together and I am looking forward to creating many more together!

I have been a Formula One fan for many years so when a product is associated with the sport I want to read more about it. That is what lead me to then jacques lemans watch. We all need our cars for most everything we do. Gone are the good old days of the big yellow boots stomping through the mud on wet days and in are the days of dressy rain boots. I know this because my daughters mentioned they wanted rain boots at dinner one night. I had this image in my head of how cute they were as little ones stomping through the mud puddles in their boots. I sad that I would be more then happy to get them some rain boots. They looked at me and smiled with such happiness that I knew that I was going to bring them home the next day after work. I went to the farm store on my way home and got them the big yellow rain boots and had him bag them separately. When I got home and gathered my unsuspecting girls in a row I passed out the surprises. Being the girls that they are they acted like they were so happy and started discussing all of the things they could wear these awkward boots for. Later my wife explained to me what the modern day rain boots are and then their desire for them made more sense. After all they are now teenagers. The next day I told my girls that I had misunderstood there was a different kinds of rain boots and they all hugged me and said they would not want any other pair! You gotta love my girls.
